Grill Shutter Actuator Replacement

When replacing the Grlll Shutter Actuator motor, (upper)
Should the shutters be in the open or closed position?
This is on a 2018 F150 5.0.

I think the shutters default to open when the truck is parked, so I'd guess that's the position they should be in when replacing the motor. But that's just a guess.

I think the shutters are cycled at startup, so it probably figures it out on its own.
