I hear an electrical buzzing sound coming from around the wires going to the behind the seat fuel tank.
This happens still after shutting off truck, and removing key.
This is in a 1975.
Any ideas?
I was able to load the video, but it had no sound. I couldn’t find any settings on my phone to change that.
Normally a buzzing at a fuel tank might be an electric pump, but it would be unusual for your truck to have one. Unless it’s running some sort of fuel injection.
If not, you can always double check if you have a regular mechanical fuel pump on the engine.
Other than that, I suppose there are circumstances that could create a vibration in the rheostat of the sending unit. But I think that would be extremely unusual.
At least it’s never happened in my experience.
I wonder if there’s something underneath? Maybe a dual tank selector valve?
What year is the truck, and do you have dual tanks?
