a Little Cheap
When I said that the F150 outshines the Titan, its just that. I could go one for hours but I'll touch a few. The F150 felt more solidly built. The ride was more confident, shifting through gears was a lot smoother, tactile touch of the buttons (i.e. radio, a/c heater, windows) gave a more positive feedback, even with gloves on (it was cold that day). The overall layout was more friendlier. Not to confusing, easy to find what you need at a glance. When I make a big purchase, I scrutinize even the little things. Also, driving position was more commanding for me. I don't know if you have gone out to see or even drive the thing but look for these things. Make comparisons because you will spend a lot of time in it and you want to feel as comfortable as possible. One last thing, pay close attention when you open and close the doors both when inside and outside. You'll notice that they seem to have some dampening. I have yet to hear them slam at all. It is always a smooth "dump". Now this is what I found to be more important to me. Like said before, power goes to the Titan, but thats it. If that is what you are looking into then your choice is easy. For me, power is a quick fix, but not the other little things I have mentioned. I would personally would like the whole package. HH

You may be just about right. I went and drove the Titan over the weekend and yes it was definitely more powerful than the Ford felt. Styling might still go to Ford though. I hope what is being said about preceived power increase post break-in on the Ford is true just the same.
I do think that SOME of the interior pieces do come off a little "cheesy," especially the floor shifter. Sorry guys, but it does FEEL like cheap plastic. It doesn't bother me because I'm sure there will be some neat after-market stuff to appear soon. Also, most of the wheels aren't the most attractive ones on the market, but they can be changed easily, too. I don't think Ford's ever been known for sharp wheels, but if that's the biggest problem they have, then God bless 'em.
This new truck's strengths are where they're most important: handling and drivability. You must not have driven the competitor's vehicles, otherwise you'd have been blown away by the F-150s quiet, solidness and incredible roadholding. Throw in the safety, towing, and payload aspects, and you've got to give Ford credit.
Oh yeah, and since you're new to FTE, you may not be aware, but I happen to sell these things for a living. How's THAT for objectivity?
