I've got a couple questions here and I don't see any wheel and tire size cheat sheets so I wanna ask before making a costly mistake. My XLT has 18" wheels on it, but I know some had 17"s...I am assuming I can go to 17"s no problem? I imagine the 18"s were only for someones aesthetic taste and not because it has bigger brakes or something. Secondly, 33x12.5s will fit fine?
Sorry for the newb questions but I'm still very new to this truck platform
33x12.5 are a bit small for the truck. Will fit easy. My 35's, almost require fender flares. I might add the smooth bushwacker extend a fenders and Raptor like running boards. Most likely Gorhino Rb30.
My spare is on the oem 17" wheel. Its a E rated pizza cutter. 35x10.5r17 Kenda MT2. Fits perfectly in the oem spare location. Just need to remember to keep the different oem lug nuts and socket. Aftermarket Methods require different lug nut. Also, you need to gun on the Methods, while in the air. Final torque on the ground is ok. Or jack just one corner of the truck, and torque while in the air. 150# was fine for me.

My truck only has the stock 275s on it so even 33s will be a tad higher, which I am ok with as my old man struggles to get in it for fishing trips as is (bum knee and back). I appreciate the insight on the wheel size tho. I was actually looking at wagon wheels so it might not be a problem, but I'll keep it in mind

I hear you bro. I bought a set of 245/75R17 LRE Winter tires and studded them then mounted to the steel OEM wheels. It lowered my 2022 F-350 SCLB and caused -5mph speedometer error. Both my knees were bone on bone and my L4-L5 gives me a fit if I try to do much of anything.
After my knees were replaced, I went with 37x12.5x20 and added 1/4" wheel spacers to reduce full wheel lock rubbing. I used the OEM aluminum wheels. These tires are AT and I'll see how they handle snow. The Nexen Winterguard don't handle mud well. I destroyed my yard just getting in and out after snow melt.
I have a set of 50% used Centenial Mud Terrain 33x12.5x20 and they are indeed shorter than OEM 275/65R20 and OEM 285/70R18. They do very well for mud but are not well suited for long trips in hot climates. Highways wear them down and they are somewhat loud. FREE to good home.

My '22 came with 18" wheels and here is a photo with 17" steel wheels installed. I did use a 1/4" spacer on the front and a 1/2" spacer on the rear though it is not necessary. I used the center caps from the aluminum wheels and this required a little stud clearance.
