Stalling
I have an 89 f350 with a 460, the truck is always stalling on me especially when I go from forward to reverse and vice versa. Also when going down hill with foot off the accelarator it stalls out on me. Any ideas?

how is the idle i had a 91 5.0 truck and it would idle funny and die at low rpm's if i did not have the gas barely touched especially in gear. i was told by the car doctor on the radio that it could be the mass airflow sensor. he said it probably had carbon build up in it. clean yours out with throttle body cleaner not carb cleaner. that will eat up the special lining inside

try changing your fuel filter. We bought our 88' f150 3 months ago and it started stalling out about 2 1/2 weeks ago, even when in park. It runs fine with the new filter, but we are still making sure it isn't one of the fuel pumps as well. (our brother a former ford mechanic recommended we do this)
