Bed platform

On the older trucks there were indentations in the front, rear and fender wells in the bed so you could put a stud across the bed at the indentations stack material or whatever else you want on top of the studs and different stuff below them. I’ve noticed that the newer trucks don’t have that anymore. I’ve got the indications on the fender wells, but not in the front or rear of the bed. I would like to do a platform on the bed like I could be done on the older trucks, but since there are no longer indentations in the bed I have to figure out a new way of doing it; preferably without needing supports under the platform that reduce the useable space under the platform. I’m hoping that someone has already overcome this problem and can help me out. I’ve got a 2024 F250.

I'm trying to decide if I want to do a platform that I can store tools above and below or a packrat that can store my hand tools with my bigger tools, like a table saw and miter saw, on top. I do appreciate to suggestion.

Huh, they still have them, just not as pronounced.

I ended up using my Packrat toolbox and a chest box up front. For the platform I used some 3/4" CDX across the top of the packrat and extended padt the edge of the packrat to each side of the bed and to the chest box. The 12" wide section of CDX between between the packrat and the chest box is removable to access the space there and store stuff there. This should help with organizing my tools and accessing them.
