Estate auction coming up in a couple weeks, on the bill is a 1996 F-250 extended cab, 2wd, 351w/E4OD. Pics show a toolbox in the bed. Limited pics show decent interior, grey? Mileage unknown. Appears to have passenger tires on it. Central Texas. Looks to been parked for awhile. Any ballpark on value? Was curious if purchasing, to clean it up, change fluids, tires, detail, etc., and flip. No visible rust or dents.
Thanks guys, just kinda brainstorming. If I could snag for $1,000-$1,250. Could I go thru it, hopefully not spend more than $1,250, if nothing major, and resell in $4,000 range? Or, should I go lay down, until this thought goes away?
O crap!! Me bad. I went and double checked the listing, and the auction is tomorrow, not a week from tomorrow. I am currently 900 mi from home. If anyone is interested: Hall Auction Service. The auction location is Stephenville, TX. Also a Farmall Cub, and Massey Ferguson utility(I think).
If you can get that for 1k, be sure to buy at least 10 haha. That's a really clean looking 9th gen with low miles. There's no telling what it could go for but I'm guessing with today's used truck prices, upwards of 5k shouldn't be too surprising. Good looking truck. Many will pay far more restoring theirs to get to where that one is, so.
There's a major advantage to old 2wd trucks over 4wd's; They come with 99.9999999999% less rust. I suppose the price will depend on if locals only will be there. Out west, rust free trucks like that are simply commonplace. In northern states, people would pay far more as they're simply not seen anymore up north.
