Getting my new to me 2018 F450 Platinum ready for a tow to the camp ground tomorrow. Of course all tires need air. 70 PSI on the G rated tires. ACK!!! break out the big compressor 50 ft of hose my long gauge and longer air chuck. outer rear done, inner rear %#*#&&& Damn it Dealers tire shop di not align the inner stem to the hole. Now to get the Milwaukee fuel 18V impact 13/16" socket and impact extension. wouldn't you know the tire shop hit two of the lugs so hard my impact would not break em loose. Go into truck back seat get out all the factory tools had to put extension pipe on the lug wrench and just all 165 pounds of me on it. OK well back to recovery mode indexed the stems lubed to lug nuts with drop of oil and then repeat other side. oh and spare was dead flat, gonna have to keep and eye on it. Oh BTW what kinda tool you need for them fancy rear hub caps. Ended up using the arms from 3 jaw gear puller.
These work excellent to get the rear center caps off. I've tried a few different things and these are by far the best option I've found. I even got a local tire shop using them. I keep them in the case under my back seat.
I would get a can of plasti-dip, and dip the ends so it doesnt hurt the chrome plastic as bad, or put hard indention in it, if dealership rotates or fix a flat, I make them show me(using my 4 way) that you can break the lugs loose before I drive away...yeah, they get mad when they cant, well neither can I on a deserted hiway, at 2am...bunch of retodds.
