Don't know how it happened, but the dark plexiglass trim at the RR corner of my wife's 2024 Bronco Sport Heritage Edition has cracked. This is a part Ford calls Applique M1PZ78291A08AA.
I ordered a replacement, drilled out the three rivets partly covered by the right tailgate strut, but then found the part would not slide out. Examining the replacement part revealed that there are apparently three more rivets on the front edge, along with two locating pegs.
Frustratingly, it looks like the window in front of this piece of plexiglass has to be removed first. And to remove the glass the plexiglass trim between it and the rear door looks like it has to come out first. And to do so it appears that some of the interior has to be disassembled. Anyone else run into this lunacy? Surely there has to be an easier way.
