Axel questions for conversion
I have a 1979 f250 and im wanting to swap the front axel with a 2002 f350 dana 60. Im wondering if anyone has done that and give me some pointers im aware of swapping an 05 front in and using a battle born breaks kit. But i have a 2002 axel and i want to keep leaf springs.

It's not a bolt in situation as the1979 F-250 leaf springs are 31.5 CL and the 2002 leaf spring are 36.5 CL. Most likely need new to fabricate front cross member and need to outboard the rear shackle somehow. Try search feature as there have been a few swaps done by a few FTE members I believe. Hope this info is helpful. Might be simpler to beef up the existing HP 44 axle if you're having issues breaking parts. Good luck and keep this post updated if possible.
