thanx allot guyzzz

i believe you can turn up the injector pump to pump more. get bigger injectors but that may be expensive. and of course run 5 inch straight pipe all the way out the back
5" is over kill on a 6.9/7.3
3" is plenty for a NA
4" if your turbo'd
Turning up the pump is not, just something you can do. It takessome tuning to get it right. Involves, fuel timing & fuel delivery. I'll recomend a Pyrometer before you start tinkiering with it.
A pyrometer is just a fancy name for an exhaust temp sensor.
It allows you to monitor your exhaust gas temps, EGT's.
If you just turn up the pump, without monitoring the EGT's your in serious danger of melting down the engine. EGT's of over 2100 degree's are eventually fatal to an engine.
More fuel= more heat. You'll be riding a thin line between performance and engine failure
i am no diesel expert but i figured there were bigger injectors for all diesels. but still a 3 - 5 inch exh. would be loud . start it right after the manifold if it fits
A 6.9 adding a three inch exhaust starting at where the pipes come together from the manifolds is a great performance boost.
A straight thru muffler will make it loud, but help it breathe better, AKA run better.
It will have a loud rap at highway speeds and upon deceleration it will really crack over 2000 RPM's
When you turn the fuel up it is real easy to go to far. Then you will be replacing rings a lot sooner than you want to.
The pyrometer is essential to turn up the fuel so you do not melt the pistons.
1250 degrees is where things start melting, your engine will be junk by 1500
I run my pyrometer in the exhaust maniflod before it gets to the tailpipe flange.
I am installing my new 7.3 turbo motor tomorrow at a little under 260,000 due to turning up the fuel to much, But then I work my truck a little harder than most people do. Check out my photo's and you will see.
