Installed a console safe that takes up 1/2 of my console. As many of us here know the safes are decent but the locks are the weak point making if pretty easy to get in with a simple pair of channel locks if you know how.
The lock is a standard 7/8” Cam lock. I upgraded to a Medeco high security key lock. The upgraded lock is hardened steel and sits much lower so it is near impossible to get a grip on. Nothing is impossible to get into but this will make it much harder so hopefully they move on to an easier target.
I just installed this console safe. I'm not happy with how it is screwed down to the bottom of the bin. Doesn't feel like the screws are in metal. Thief could just rip out the entire safe it seems like.

Must be a different safe.
Mine came with a 10” 18” (est) metal plate that slides in under the console and the safe actually bolts to that with lock washers. It won’t be easy to rip out. You should be able to do the same thing if you wanted to.

Probably made by the same folks for sure as the construction is nearly identical. Mine sits in the other orientation and has a rim for the tray. The factory tray is a really tight fit and needed to be trimmed but I found another that fits well.
Given tools, and time any lock/device can be defeated.
These console safes are intended to stop a smash and grab theft only. They are far more secure than your console alone, or glovebox.
