Sluggish on take off

The other morning when it was 17 outside, my PSD started just fine. I was in a hurry to get to where I was going so didn't have time for it to warm up. It seemed that I really had to put my foot into it to get it to go down the road. The first 50% of throttle wasn't getting me much speed but if I went beyond that, it came to life. It has blended fuel in it and was just wondering if all of the PSD's are like this when they are REAL cold? After it warmed up, everything was fine.

Yes, all diesels will do this in cold weather. Diesels need heat to burn the fuel, it will be sluggish because your fuel mixture cannot be burned properly. Have no fear there is nothing wrong with your truck!

yup. that is the exhaust back pressure valve keeping closed to help the engine warm up... perfectly normal unless you unplug it or gut it
