Transmission cooler lines
Dropped my E40d today out of the 96 F250 7.3. It’s beyond shot.. no movement and A lot of metal shavings in there. Getting ready to swap a reman E40d in there. Do I have to replace transmission cooler lines and my radiator? It appears my transmission cooler lines go into my radiator. I will definitely be replacing the cooler.

Replace radiator, trans cooler and flush cooling lines.

Upgrade the trans cooler with a 6.0 powerstroke trans cooler or one from the 99-03 7.3 super duty.

It is next to impossible to get all the debris out of the cooler. Either switch to an external cooler, like the 6.0 cooler or get a new radiator.
