I've somehow managed to keep her for more than 30yrs and even though she still ribs me over my crazy ideas, she gets right in there to help whenever she's needed. She's quick to remind me that the motorhome was all my idea and that I talked her into it, but the truth is she wanted it just as much as me. She just didn't know it.
It's great when there's no body work, short of a few dings, and not even half a truck. Primed and ready for paint in less than 4 days. Some pitting on the hood and horizontal surfaces due to its past life on the coast. Other than that, easy peasy. Tomorrow color!
I've got some paint projects coming up. I'm a newbie at it, so I'm wondering: Do you worry about dust/bugs/etc. getting on your fresh new smooth paint while it is wet?
Not so much. I've sprayed at least a half dozen cars in my shop with good results. The last 3 were single stage solid colors. For sure they're the easiest and will usually let the paint cure a bit before moving things outside to dry. A bit of dust here or there is easy to deal with later. Using the right hardener is key tho. You want the wet window to be as short as possible but not so short that you can't lay down a good coat. 2 stage is a whole different game tho. With the extra coats the wet window is much longer so lots more time for something to go wrong. Metallics are harder to correct and clear coats are like a giant magnet that will attract everything. Will usually leave things inside when shooting clear. My biggest ef-up was spraying clear into the early evening. Garage door open, lights on, went inside to take a quick break. Came back out to find a giant moth struggling to get out of the now half cured clear coat. Ugh! Lesson learned, make sure you finish before the bugs come out.
Painting done, now for getting it all back together. Will finish that all up between work over the next few weeks. After that will be cutting the frame in half and stretching.
Baby s**t, err, I mean Baytree Green. Told my wife she could pick any color but it had to be correct for the year and non metallic.
Goes great with the fabrics she picked out as well.

I restored a 69 that was more of a pea green. I don't see it on the Ditzler chart so must have been discontinued. Your green looks great, mine not so much...but it was original color.
Can't say that I'm a huge fan of the color but it is growing on me. My wife loves it and considering her choices is a huge win. Ugly enough to be cool is what I say. Since I sprayed the interior first I had the opportunity to tweak the color before I shot the exterior. Added some black just to cut the brightness a bit tho the photos don't really show the difference.
Reminds me of my 67 F350 dually Class C. I bought it to do like you're doing and when I started disassembly I found out that it had so much water damage in the walls none of them were salvageable. The only things that I have left are the appliances and the truck with a 15 foot flat bed.

Stretch went well. Better than I anticipated. Was a bit concerned with keeping everything straight and aligned after splitting the frame but actually really easy. The 30" we added brings the wheelbase to 204". The reinforcement channel still needs to be fit and welded and then an additional 3"-4" will be added at the rear. Should be right about 29' bumper to bumper when complete.
