Work just gave me a 2022 Maverick XL AWD. It has the auto start-stop “feature.” I’ve used Forscan on my personal 2024 Super Duty to change a few things, and would like to use it to disable auto start-stop on this truck. Looking through the Maverick forum I don’t see a link to using Forscan like there is in the 2023+ Super Duty forum. Can Forscan be used on the Maverick?
My dealer told me it wasn't possible, which is sad (my Jeep let me do cool things with a plugin). That said, I have built a CAN bus tool that allows me to read and write commands, so I'm cautiously experimenting.
Thanks for the reply’s. I looked through a couple of “off brand” forums and found a FORScan PDF that list quite a few changes that can be made, including disabling the auto start stop. I connected the Maverick to my FordPass app and it shows I have eight pending recalls so I need to find time to get those completed first before I make any changes. I’ll post back and let you know how that worked when I can.
Greetings,
Has anyone found a way to disable the automatic engine cutoff when you come to a stop? I sometimes forget to use the disable button once I'm out of the driveway, and it's annoying as dog snot on a BBQ Stake, not to mention just plain dangerous!

Not dangerous. Annoying, and doesn't save much gas-- yes.
See post 3 above for a link to a company that offers the fix. You'll have to scroll down to the offering for Maverick.

The hell it isn't! My way to work has a tight, limited view stop sign intersection to get into 55mph traffic. When I get to the highway, and come to a complete stop, the engine dies. When I see it's clear, and try to go quickly, it often sputters and delays going through the startup sequence. If another vehicle is coming around that blind corner, it's too tight and they have to apply breaks. Sure it's on me for not disabling it, but I shouldn't have to. It should be a feature I can disable forever.
Mine doesn't stop the engine until the truck is stopped.
I've been in a Audi that stopped while still rolling.
Same. "When I get to the highway, and come to a complete stop, the engine dies."I'm not running stop signs. My Maveric will shut off when you stop, you know, like you do at the stop signs before crossing a highway or turning onto a road.

I had a ‘20 Fusion with auto-stop “feature”. It never

in the three years I owned it. I’d say that there is something wrong with your vehicle.

Update - I took my truck in for the updates/ recalls, a new battery, and a coolant leak. Dealer had it for 5 weeks waiting for parts so work gave me another truck and I wasn’t sure I would ever get it back. Well I got it back this week and went to work with FORScan. The Maverick spreadsheet I found shows the Auto Start/Stop can be disabled by disabling it in the PSCM and IPC modules, or by changing the coding in the HVAC module. My truck had nothing in the IPC module so I changed the code in the HVAC module. This turned off the switch and dash light, but not the auto start/stop, which still activated just with no way to turn it off now. I put the HVAC module back to stock and disabled it in the PSCM module. That did the trick, disabling auto start/stop, the switch and dash light.
I turned off the door chime then attempted to disable Rear Park Aid. The spreadsheet showed changing the code to a 0 would disable it, but mine was already a 0. I went through the plain English portion of each module searching for rear, park, chime, etc. Found where I could disable several things related to the rear sensors. This removed the Rear Park Aid menu from the center screen but the chime still sounds and the phone mutes out to hear the chime better, but now with no way to turn it off. I did find an option to enable the long term disable of the warning, or words to that effect. That helped, now the park warning stays off for the whole key cycle and doesn’t have to be turned off each time I switch to reverse.
If anyone knows of a way to permanently disable the Rear Park Aid please let me know.
