ECM Identification
Is there a chart somewhere that helps decode the numbers on the ECM on the 90s fords? F4TF-12A650-BBC is what I have on an older one but would like to understand what each group of numbers means. I know the F4 identifies it as a 94.

[Prefix] - [Base Part Number] - [Suffix]
F4TF:
- F = Decade: 1990s
- 4 = Year: 1994
- T = Vehicle line or division: Truck Division
- F = Engineering department: Electronics (Powertrain Control Module or similar)
- 2A650 is the standard base number for Engine Control Units (ECUs) across Ford vehicles.
- Calibration Code / Revision — used to match to specific vehicle application
Software/Calibration: BUG2
Hardware: SMD-219, MAF 60-pin OBD1, 4R70W, 5.0l
Federal emissions, non-cali.
All the above is pretty much from memory, other than vehicle search shows could be Bronco, F-x50 and/or E-x50.
