Steering column install question?
The last part I am waiting on for the steering column, the bearing sleeve, should be here tomorrow. This brings me to my question. When I reassemble the column on the bench, do you set the 1/16" gap between steering wheel and column by tightening retainer clamp at the bottom of the column, before installing column in to truck? I take it this is what holds the adjustment and does not allow the spring under the steering wheel to widen the gap. Thanks.
