This is the only picture I can find of mine without going and shooting another but was where the instructions said to install it.
You'll have to drill a hole to mount it to the fender then locate the square block on the hood and mark where to drill the two holes to mount it.
Be careful that the hood does flip to far forward or it will contact your grille..glue the rubber so the rod has a place to rest..

What I did was bolt the bottom, put the block on the end, set it in the hood where you want it, mark it and drill. My prop allows the hood to be open almost to the point where the front of the hood hits the trim ring on my headlight. You might want it differently.

Avoid petroleum lubes. They will remain on the o-ring and allow it to slide back thru. Dish soap will dry and keep the oring from coming back thru.
