2022 F250 6.7L 23,500 miles on the odometer
2 Months of traveling, occasionally pulling our 30' Travel Trailer as we changed locations from state to state. On the way back home while pulling the trailer, we started getting steering column and steering wheel vibrations (not back and forth but up and down) every time the speedometer hit around 58 MPH. It was a 5-MPH range each way from 58. I also noticed it was mostly in 8th gear. What do you think might cause this? Doesn't seem like a death wobble situation. Is the transmission slipping or some other component failing? Does not happen at all when not towing. Thoughts?
I had a similar vibration at 70+; towing or not. Balanced tires several times, no help. I found a shop that could true tires; they found one of the front tires out-of-round and trued it; been good since then.
Tough to say without some investigation, but definitely look at tires first. Could even be a driveshaft lost a weight but that's usually felt in the seat not the wheel.
