Hi all, got a 2019 F350 SRW 4x4 gasser. Looking to swap the 3.73 gears out with 4.30 or 4.56. Anyone had a quote to do this recently? What should I expect to pay? Thanks
Not sure what state you are in, but I recently got a quote for a 6.7L in GA. 8 hours for rear axle and 10 hours for front axle at $155 per hour. That wanted me to purchase and bring in the parts.
Go 4.56 for 34" tires or less, if you want to be conservative. For performance, go 4.88 and dont look back.
Forget about 4.30. Not a big enough change to be worth the cost.
Put a Detroit locker, or Yukon Griz locker, in the front axle at the same time. Diff has to come out for gears, minus well upgrade.
Yeah, I’m leaning towards the 4.56 gears. This is strictly a tow rig, not concerned about gas mileage. I’m running stock size tires so if the 4.56’s end up feeling too deep on the highway I can always upsize the tires.
