Well I finally got my coupon. Looks like I'm getting the Emporia 48am J1772 charge station. I now have to take some pictures of my garage and fill out the form to schedule installation.

Congrats! Awesome!!!! The Emporia 48 amp J1772 charge station is reported as a reliable highly rated simple J1772 EVSE. While there were rumors that Ford was going to switch to Emporia, you are the first I heard of that will receive this charge station from Ford.

Got the charger today. Shipping was FAST. It is in fact the Emporia charger.

The Electrician that Ford assigned to the project is booked out a full week, so they are coming September 1st to install it. I hope those guys realize it's Labor Day. So another 10 days I'll have freedom from a lot of the range anxiety. He said that generally what they do is run exposed conduit from the panel then up and over to the wall of the customer's choice in the garage, with a 60 amp circuit. Since my panel is in my garage they confirmed no additional cost to me.

So I figure $450 with shipping for the charger, plus whatever an electrician would charge for installation which I assume to be several hundred dollars, this is actually a VERY nice promotion that Ford is doing here.

Electricians showed up today to install my charge station. Two guys spent 3.5 hours putting it all in. It works like a charm. Charges at 10 to 11 kw. This will be a game changer now since I can fill the "tank" overnight while I sleep at the comfort of my home.

Yes and the Emporia app for my charge station is awesome. I LOVE the way it displays graphs and calendars showing daily/weekly/monthly usage in watts and cost. Absolutely fantastic for seeing how much I'm spending to "fill up" the truck.

If the next generation of this truck has double the towing range, it will be the perfect pickup truck. I'm excited for that.
