What is this red connector?

Hey guys. I’m wondering what this red plastic connector is for? I have a 1984 Ford F150, 300 I6 4.9l 2wd styleside. It comes out around the solenoid, regulator and map sensor. If I don’t need it, I’d like to get rid of it. Thanks for your help.

That is to read the codes from the computer. If you are keeping the computer control, you need it. There should be a wire with a single connector on it in the same vicinity. That's the one you jump to this larger one to pull codes.
