Started having problems with my back up cam intermittent working and not working now it only comes on for a few seconds with the blue screen
I’ve replaced the cam and disconnected wiring harness into tailgate and cleaned and checked connections all seemed good it did not help .
does anyone have any ideas I’ve heard it could be software problems can anyone with a computer get software updates ?
Does anyone now how to check what part of wire harness is possibly bad ?
What year and model of truck do you have?
.
Also I did recieve a notice from Carfax that Ford is issuing a recall for the backup cameras on certain years.
2014 f 250 super duty xlt I don’t want to just start replacing wiring harness sections can’t afford to much to get my cam back but it’s real nice for trailers I also heard it may need a software update ? Would you know anything about that ? And if so would that be something only dealership could do or can any decent mechanic do it ?
This is what I know about the camera recall. I haven't heard about a software update.
If I remember right the recall is because of a chip in the camera, not the wireing or the software.

As with any electrical glitch with these vehicles, the first thing I recommend trying it to disconnect the battery(s) for a while and let the systems drain down, then hook it back up, a lot of times this can address issues.
