Alright ford truck peeps I have a 97 F-250 CCSB 4x 7.3 auto. I recently installed a bad *** thunderstruck front bumper and Ramsey 10k worm drive winch on mine truck and now I am having a stalling issue when I go over bumps if I’m going fast the tach just drops when I’m going slow the truck will actually die. It always fires right back up. I checked my CTS3 when it first started doing it and it gave me a P0340 and P0344 code for the cam sensor I grabbed a new motorcraft one from Oriellys (had to order it) but it’s still doing it a still giving a P0344 code for intermittent cam sensor signal. Wiring looks ok but it’s hard to see. Any other suggestions?
broken wire in the loom maybe, going to need to pull it apart and pull each wire looking for a break
42 pin connector tight?
At the pcm? I will verify I have a spare motor with what appears to be a very good harness on it I’m working on getting it pulled extra gently. But that’s where I’m leaning
Strip the harness for the CPS all the way up and around the water pump and inspect with good light, eyeballs, and fingers. Lots of movement and heat on that section causes damage.
Not saying you do not have OEM, but corner stores are now loaded with counterfeits.. Do not trust them.
If you feel the need to try another CPS they are almost always stocked at Ford and International.
Wiring issue is where I’m leaning it didn’t have the problem prior to adding the 5-700 lbs of extra weight to the front of the truck. But in doing so the front end suspension now hits harder when going over bumps causing it to jostle more. Planning to inspect wiring over the weekend. To hopefully sus out the issue and repair it
