Hey All. I have a question in regards to how dim my headlights are on my 03 f250. Is there a way to make them brighter, ie: higher wattage replacement bulbs? I have read that the silverstars are the way to go but is there an easier route? Am I the only one to have these problems or are there others? I have never been "flashed" when I have forgotten to dim them from high beams and can hardly see infront of me with just the low beams. Any help would be great. Thanks
If it's a 2003 truck, I'd start by contacting the dealership and see what's up. That doesn't sound right, especially the part about how you don't get flashed even with your brights on. AFTER you get the stock lighting rectified, drive it in darkness a few times and THEN decide if you need the aftermarket bulbs. You may be satisfied with the stock bulbs when operating properly, thus saving you spending money on someone else's (ie, Ford's) error.
Further, if there's a problem in the electrical going to the headlight/high beams, it would likely also have the same affect on the aftermarket bulbs. If the stock bulbs aren't getting proper juice, why would simply replacing the bulb suddenly get proper juice? Make sense?
Just suggesting you investigate and try to rectify before throwing more money at a problem. Hope you don't take my comments wrong; I just don't want to see you get burned for new bulbs (which aren't cheap) or spend money unnecessarily.
Mine is and the factory lights were dim on a dark road. I put in Silver Star sealed beams and it made the difference between night and day. (pun intended)

Mine is an XL with sealed beams, and they don't seem to be very bright either. I loved the lights on my 92, but these don't seem to be very bright. How had would it be to convert to the XLT style lights?

Difficulty may not be your biggest concern. I have an 02 F250 SD and the headlights seem dim to me, too. So, you may have buyer's remorse if you go that route.
Just a heads-up and my $.02 worth...
Don't want to see ya bummed after dumping a lot of $$ into headlight assemblies w/o solving the problem to your satisfaction.
