new engine has a run-on or dieseling problem, but i have played with the idle and can't get it any better. and i always run 92 octane, but it does get worse with lesser gas. any other things causeing this? or do i need to play with it some more? also could the 750 carb be causeing this?
the engine is a 400 with stock compresion, and a perfomance cam(i think like 290 duration, and 500 or something lift if i remember correctly), roller rockers, mild ported polished heads edelbrock 400 intake, holley 750 carb, and headers. and the timing set is the 1971 straight up timing.
also how did this become a new thread? i posted this in another thread.
This question is different from the other users problem so it was split into it's own thread. I was notifying you via email when I saw that you had found this topic already.
With your long duration cam you are going to have idle problems. I would install an electric fast idle solenoid on your carb.
