Incredibly faster and more reliable than Ford’s wireless OR wired interface. But this does NOT support AndroidAuto at all. The alternate product is much more advanced so should. It also appears to have the option of integrating cameras which might make it a game changer for me. With Ford OEM with or without the Amazon product I note above I can configure my large screen to allow navigation (Ford or CarPlay) and leave the right side of the screen to watch the bed camera (for what!) when I really want to watch traffic behind the expensive ford trailer camera for my 5th wheel camper. I don’t want to waste the entire screen on watching traffic behind, nor divert my attention to toggle between them. Ford has missed this in 4 successive years (150’s from which the software was developed cannot pull 5th wheels). The product advertised may finally allow it.
I know that not many have heads up display, but I do. One note. If you use hardwire connection to phone, and it connects properly, Carplar will display turn by turn directions in heads up and on screen above the steering wheel IF using Apple Maps. It will not if using Waze or Google Maps. It will not if using Ford’s wireless connection. Using the Amazon product to connect wirelessly, there is no heads up or steering wheels screen turn by turn, but everything else works.
My CarPlay connectivity with Ford system has never been good, but with wife’s phone in car it seems that Ford cannot make up its mind so connects neither. I solved this with two of the Amazon products, plugging the appropriate one in before day of travel.

It may or may not work with our trucks, as it depends on how they have the CarPlay integration is setup. It has to tell the phone whether you're parked or not. If it doesn’t get that signal, it won’t play the video.

Interesting, I guess I'll wait. Maybe forscan will fix that one small issue.
