Love my B2, don't love losing a u joint at 65 on the freeway (yes i am still alive). now i'm looking for a place to rebuld it or somewhere to get another. So far i've been quoted ~$280 (+- labor), and $310 for a new one.
A local driveline shop should be able to build a U-joint shaft for around $200 or so. If you want/need double-cardan on one end, it will be more like 300. You may need it if you have a lift.
Get out the yellow pages and start calling around. When mine went out 2 years ago, I found a place close to my office (Denver) that builds and keeps a stock of new U-joint shafts for B2s, cost me right at 200 including tax. I've put about 50k miles on it now without a problem.
my cv joint rear driveshaft went out, i could not find one anywhere but i found a cv joint repair shop and they did it in 30 minutes for about 100 dollars.
