My hood before it went to the body shop was just okay. You had to do the dance of back and forth to close it but it opened pretty easy. I decide while it was in the shop to go ahead and get new hinges thinking that would cure all problems.

Well picked it up from body shop and it's way worse than before. Doesn't want to open correctly and closing it takes two people almost.

My question looking at these hinges isn't there supposed to be a washer or something with the two bolts?

 

Yes a wave washer. And the bolts should not be real tight. There should be safety wire through the holes in the bolt heads to them from coming out.

Also all joints should be lubed thoroughly.

 

Thanks Abe, does the wave washer go between hinge and hood or hinge and bolt? I'm assuming hinge and hood.
