What is your guys recommendation for upstream o2 sensors? I got Bosch but guy at part store said they've had plenty returns on them? So now got me wondering. Thanks in advance
guy at part store said they've had plenty returns on them?
That tells me that either people are buying sensors based on guesses or faulty troubleshooting procedures. Getting your codes read at the auto parts store seems to be a major factor in both of those.
I did go get a scan. Came up with misfires in 2, 5 and 7. Also catalyst system below threshold banks 1 and 2. Bank 2 air-fuel ratio imbalance. I had a bad exhaust manifold so started with changing that out. Still light was on. So then went to changing out plugs and wires, reset computer. Ran with no light until I stepped on it. Engine light flashed then stayed on. Got back under hood noticed that thermostat was leaking a little fluid so changed that. Also got Bosch upstream sensors. Replaced them. Did fine on test drive last night and even got on it a bit. I still could feel the engine wasn't right. So now I guess its going to looking into coil packs. Anyone else have any suggestions?
One of the things it could be is that the catalytic converters could be clogged up and not allowing for proper air flow for the exhaust. I had a similar problem and found that my O2 sensors were pretty much gone and the cats were very very clogged up. Once i changed it out and got stock oems i put my foot into it and i saw the difference it made.
It turned out to be as simple as the purge valve. It was stuck open. I did more research and came across this so I thought what the hell ...I'll check it out. It was simple to test it and sure enough it was stuck open.
