BBK Throttle Body

New to this so here it goes. been looking at the next upgrade, possibly the BBK 75mm throttle body from summit. Any comments on this? Also lightning TB is listed as 95mm. Will the lightning one work on 99 5.4?

80 MM AND 95 MM are mass air sensor sizes. My stock tb size on my V10 was a dual 57mm.I think yall are getting them confused.

I was refering to the Aftermarket throttle body made by BBK not the MAF sensor. I was wonder if the 179.00 is worth it? It calimed to maek between 10 - 12 hp.

If you havent done any kind of mods a throttle body wont yield any gains. Now if you have done some good exhaust work, chip or tuner the TB will give some hp.I dont know the stock size but i dont think it is 80 mm as someone else suggested. The mass air sensor size is 80mm on 5.4 +6.8,95 mm on Lightnings.

The stock throttle body size on a 5.4 is 70mm, going to a 75mm is a little help, hopefully you have other mods, intake, exhaust, chip.

for what its worth on my 01 ram with full length headers. 3" catback, m1 manifold , ram air system , ford motorsport 24psi injectors and mopar pcm- i picked up a peak of 12hp and 27ftlbs of torque- was very braod all the way across the board- extremely became more responsive as the oem was hour glass- 50mm-48mm-50mm- i went with a 50mm billet unit-i'll be putting one on soon and posting dyno members for you guys-phil

With those mods: chip, exhaust (im talking about a 3inch pipe right after the Y into a 3inch inlet 3inch outlet Flowmaster 3 chamber 50 series, 40 series maybe too loud), intake, and 75mm throttle body youll probably pick up (real hp, not advertised horsepower) about 32-35 hp tops, it will be noticeable, quicker accelarations but nothing crazy or necksnapping (remember these Expeditions weigh between 5,450 -5,700 lbs nothing light about it, especially when the horsepower is low already. Test drive a 2001 plus Chevy tahoe w/ the 5.3 2 or 4 wheel drive, you will be amazed how much faster they take off, they weigh about 200- 300 lbs lighter than the expedition, thats not much but remember that every 100lbs is a 10th slower in the quarter mile plus they have 25-30hp more than we do stock, so in other words you will see his rear lights everytime you race one, sucks i know, we do though have the upperhand on pulling uphill or any trailer, our torque comes in handy in the low RPM's.............. Enough about that i guess............ You'll pick up about 1 to 1.2 seconds quicker in the quarter, mine did a 15.4 with very little gas (94 octane), removed third seat, removed spare tire and hitch not bad.......for a 5.4 4x4. Saved about 225lbs............ Good luck

Thats called advertised horsepower, unless you have a 90MM MAS, full length headers, no cats, ice man air cooler( a custom made box with dry ice) then i'll believe you'll get an extra 12 hp from this T.B. other than that maybe 4-5 hp.

Thanks. I already have a Gibson cat back and K&N filter charger.
I think I will wait and do headers, MAF, and the TB all at the same time.
