Cap (shell) for 2001 f-150

Hello all, I just picked up my Ford Truck and I look forward to getting to know you and getting your input on these boards.

I just bought a 2001 F-150 regular cab Pick-up and I need a little advice. I am looking to buy a Cap (shell) and I’m not sure where to start. Can any of you recommend a good one at a reasonable price? Also, I have a regular cab, short bed with flair fenders; can you tell me if the “flair” is the same as“non-flair” when shopping for a cap? In other words do I need to be specific when shopping for a Cap, or will all short bed caps fit flair fenders?
Thanks in advance for your help. This is my first Ford truck and I love it.

Dutch

Hi Dutch and welcome to the forum

I'm in Canada and we probably have different brands of shells
(we call them canopies) so I wont recommend anything there. You will need one for a Flareside though as the actual box is narrower than the box on a Styleside.
Take a look at http://www.leer.com/fordgallery.html

shell

also, different shells for xcab and reg cab, something about the tilt of the rear window being different.
i bought a brand new one for my truck this past summer, it was a raven topper, forget what kind, but bottom of the line fiberglass with carpet lining for $825 installed, lots (by as much as 1000 cheaper) cheaper than most check them out.
