Do the dealers print out the window stickers and place them on the vehicles or do the window stickers come from the factory?
Reason I ask is I’ve noticed on some of these trucks that for example, up fitter switches on one truck is a $240 upgrade and on a different truck it’s $160 upgrade (both lariat or xlt) I’ve also seen that the FX4 skid plates range from $400 all the way up to $550.
Makes me wonder if the dealers do print out their own stickers and throw a price on there for whatever accessory the truck has.
You can obtain a window sticker via the internet, as long as you have a vin #. They have to come with the truck. And I doubt that many, if any, dealerships have printers capable of actually doing the size/quality color printing that'd be required.
They come from the factory. The price discrepancies you are seeing is from Ford doing price adjustments throughout the year, so a truck built in March can have different options pricing than one built in June.
They are printed and applied at the factory at the end of the line. Prices vary with package options. Lariat ultimate they are no charge, but Lariat un-ultimate depends on what else is ordered.

As mentioned the price discrepancy is due to price adjustments during the model year, all OEMs do that. For instance, for my '22 Ram 2500, there was an identically equipped truck that was built 4 months later, that had a sticker price $2k more. Differences were that the other truck was white and built later.
My current truck was ordered in February, by the time I took delivery several options had increased in price. Because I ordered and put a deposit on it, I had price protection so I didn't have to pay the increased price.
I have seen a bunch of instances where some shady dealers show you the truck listing with a link to the supposed factory Window Sticker, when it actually links to one they did themselves. These dealers will then add stuff in with crazy prices or adjust other pricing, acting like this is the actual legitimate Window Sticker uggghhhh

Interesting, do you have a link?
Pretty sure that is illegal for them to do that.
Remember the MSRP is ManufacturersSuggested Retail Price.
When I bought my F250 last month, it was 1 of 2 identically equipped trucks, including the color. 1 was $500 more, so I started looking at the window stickers while I was online. I found the difference. The diesel engine on 1 was $500 more: it built later in the year and the price had gone up. So of course I bought the cheaper of the 2.

Whats illegal is listing one price online or ads, to get yo uin the door and having a much higher actual price with unadvertised add-ons. Thats a call to the State Attorney Generals office when that happens. False Advertising.
