Headlamp Connectors

'02 Superduty; Can anyone tell me the easy way to disconnect the headlamp connector on the passenger side. There's not much room to work in there with the battery in the way. Do ya have to take the locking collar off to get the connector off? Can't believe it would be that difficult. Any advice would be appreciated.
