3 way electrical connector
I needed to make an electrical connection under the dash. Limited room and wire length made this tough. I had read some really bad reports about long term use of Scotchloks so I went looking for an alternative. I ended up using 3 ring connectors, a little dielectric grease and a pop rivet. The pop rivets come in different diameters to fit different size rings. Smear a little grease on the rings, slip them onto the pop rivet, crunch it with the pop rivet tool and voila, a 3 way connector with squeeze connections on all three ends. Some friction tape or heat shring to insulate things and you're done. The idea isn't original with me. My NAPA parts store lists them at about a buck apiece but they don't stock them. It would be nice if someone made a butt connector with a spade sticking out the side but I couldn't find anything like that.
