The spring rate is the same but the springs now work so much smoother.
You will swear your driving a F-150
Interesting. How often do you have to do this?

Run a larger sidewall like a 295/70 and drop the PSI. Change shocks to Ranch RS7MT.

What is your front GAWR? No heavy spring options?

You know the old expression..... If I had a nickel for every person that bough a Heavy Duty truck and then whined about the stiff ride I'd be........... well, I'd have a lot of nickels...

I gurss I'm just spoiled. I upgraded from an F-150, so I guess I expected a bit less of a bone jarring ride. The roads around here suck! So I feel every little bump and road divot!

Well if you dont want to mess with lift springs etc. Do an alignment, fox ifp steering stabilizer, Rancho RS7MT shocks, and a 295/70/18 in a mild tread like Bridgestone AT or Michelin Defender.

Tire pressure tpms at 45 front and rear. Put 55 rear when hauling/towing max.

Your stock springs are the lightest available

I haven’t noticed that the Rancho RS7MT monotubes ride softer than the OE FX4 twin tubes. The ride is just more controlled off pavement.

Definitely a matter of unrealistic expectations; big difference between an 5,000 lb F-150 with independent front suspension and 1600 lbs payload capacity and an 8,000 lb Superduty with a solid front axle and 4,000 lbs payload capacity...

My Mercedes GLE53AMG rides much better than my F350 dually, but the Ford does much better with my 10,000 lb trailer behind it. ;-)

Drop you tire pressures and call it a day.

2 cents,

Dave

lol maybe for a light duty spring it'd make a difference. otherwise, its placebo. the binding springs is for sure an issue but the shackles also are all bound up from the rubber they use. full progressive leaf pack and upgraded shackles from Carli would make a massive difference.

I mean it makes sense. To flex they need to slide against each other.

Manufacturer’s can’t send them out with oil all over the chassis.

Maybe the RC 1.5” coils are ultra smooth compared to stock 5600s.

Have had a 17 and 19 upper trim 6.7 F250 CCSB with base rear springs.

One with 5600 coils and fox 2.0, wasn’t smooth but I also kept the tires aired up. Fox IFP SS.

One with RC coils and rs7mt and is pretty smooth, close to F150 smooth. Aired the tires down some on this one. Fox IFP SS.

I point out the Rs7mt because its a monotube and has 150psi charge as opposed to the bilstein monotubes with 200psi. I wouldn’t run the bilstein unless I was tow/hauling often. I just tow my skid steer a thousand or so miles a year on short trips moving it.

No- the spring rate is the spring rate is the spring rate.
All you are doing is eliminating interleaf friction so the springs flex smoother.

As far as how often I usually do it in the spring and fall.

Don't believe me? Try the quick fast and dirty- wash the springs then after they are dry shoot them with some motorcycle chain lube.

Come back and let us know what you think.
