Carb Spacer - Holley 4160 to Edelbrock Performer 289
Carb Spacer - Holley 4160 to Edelbrock Performer 289
I want to add a 1" spacer between my Edelbrock Performer 289 (dual plane) intake and my Holly 4160 carb. Any recommendations? Do I want a divided center or a 4-hole spacer? Thanks!
On both of my 65's I use a 4 hole spacer. On my 65 with the 390 and Holley 4bbl, I use a thinner 4 hole spacer due to clearance issue. On the 65 with the 289/302 and 4160 Holley. I use a 1', 4 hole spacer. Not an authority on the subject interested in suggestions/comments from other FTE members. Seem to recall article suggesting 4 hole for best fuel mixture?
I use a phenolic 1 inch open spacer on my 347 on spray .
I have tried the 4 hole , was not a real fan , just seemed something was missing in the power and driveability .
best to just get a couple different to try .
I will add , I have a cam with a fair amount of overlap , which may not be an issue for you .

Thank you both for the suggestions. Edelbrock recommended a divided, 2-hole. Holley recommended a 4-hole. The community suggests every possible option. I may need to swap a few and see how the vehicle responds.
