I drove my truck yesterday. Everything was fine. Today I go to pull out of my driveway and the truck will not move.
When I put it in reverse the engine revs, but the truck goes nowhere when I put it in drive and I rev up the engine after about two seconds something will catch and the truck will jerk forward, but I have absolutely no power.
Looking under the truck, I see what looks like the driveshaft is possibly pulled out of the transmission?
Check engine light came on, but it is not blinking. The little wrench came on. And I received a notification on the Ford app that I have a powertrain malfunction.
Wrench light indicates an electronic issue in the transmission, one that could cause damage if it is driven.
Need to get it into a shop that can find out what the issue is, someplace with a dealer level scan tool.

Shift solenoid issue or the harness inside the trans at the valve body.
I seem to recall there was a TSB out for this issue, I would ask the dealer about it.
Here’s what the service writer just sent me.
Frank, I got your message, you can reach me here much better. They did the triage, basically they're seeing codes for the shift solenoid, it should be covered under the warranty, but they have to do some disassembly to get the correct parts on order. Hopefully be in today or tomorrow, and I'll have much better answers for you.
So, my remote diagnosis was just about right.
Looks like they replaced a pin on the harness bulkhead connector at the trans.
Always seems strange to me when a harness connector pin gets screwed up, like "how did that happen?"
Not like it gets taken apart for any service, so how did it get messed up?
Oh well, you got it fixed, that's all that matters.

Yes you were. I wish I could have paid you for the diagnosis and have my truck back in a day or two vs 8 😂
The service advisor told me the tech had about 12 hours of labor into the truck, but Ford was only going to pay for 2.5 hours
So, bad connection at the wiring bulkhead. Strange, but guess that's not out of the realm of possibilities I suppose...
At least it's back to normal, yes?
I drove it about 7 miles home from the dealership and all seemed well. I’ll get a better feel for it tomorrow when I hook my trailer up and head to work.
