Canceled my radio order. Weeks with no communication.

tired of the game, so I’m trying this out. Ignore the cords. I’ll clean it up shortly once I know I like the setup. 10” screen, fits nicely into the cubby with the rubber mat removed.

was a whopping $50. Had a $35 off coupon when I bought it.

The CarPlay works off WiFi. But my phone still connects to the truck via BT. So Sync is still 100% enabled while the CarPlay screen does its magic.

Test fit Ranch Hand on her. Took it off my 2024 Expy. Fits almost perfectly. Just had to massage the tow hook opening a bit. Roughly 1/4”. Need to recess 1/4” off the mount for the skid plate to re-mount. Otherwise it’s a bolt-on fit. Tow Hooks will work once I clearance a tiny bit.

Shop locally has another Expy guard for $600. I’m going to pick it up on Monday and make permanent changes.

Good fit for something meant for a vehicle 14yrs newer

Been a minute, a few updates:
1. Bought that Ranch Hand for $500.
2. Replaced the Lead Frame and installed several Transgo goodies. Took me 9 days because of issues with 1 of the kits. Adaptives were reset with Forscan
Transgo 6R80-VBR-WT

Transgo 6R80A

Transgo 6R80-CLR-Bypass

3. Turned off the TPMS system using Forscan. Got tired of the stupid warning light. I have a bad sensor somewhere. Been using a cheap $20 aftermarket tpms that screws onto valve stems.

The Cooler bypass is interesting. Trans temp hasn’t exceeded 175F yet. And it makes adjusting level extremely easy without needing to hit 195F.

With adaptives reset and kits installed, it’s shifting okay. Going to give it a few days and see if the shift kits did anything, or if I wasted $200 on them.

Lead Frame I used was from Dorman. It failed within 250 miles. They didn’t even fight me when I asked for a refund. I suspect these fail a bunch.

Bought OEM Motorcraft Lead Frame. Revision D. It's working great...but now I have a fluid pressure leak internally. All 6 gears are working fine. It just has issues shifting into 5 and 6 at times. Never did this pre-shift kits. Works 100% when cold up thru 110F. After 110F, it has issues. So something is leaking internally. Once in gear it accelerates and no slipping. So I bought all new seals and o-rings for the shift solenoids. Since I don't know exactly what is leaking, I'm going to throw $40 in rubber parts and make sure every single seal is replaced. hopefully that does the trick. Otherwise I'll just drive it around town with 5/6 locked out and see how much a valve body costs next year (in case Transgo kits caused issue).

Also picked up a virtually new set of 37's on OEM 2022 rims with the beadlock. They fit perfectly with zero rubbing. Was able to sell my factory rims with 35's for 1/2 the cost. So really nice and "cheap" upgrade.

This is a cool comparison of 35 (front) vs 37

Pics, or the 37s didn't happen... Most agree 37s fit, but will hit the pinch welds upon compression of the suspension. Many people hammer the welds or cut them. Considering 37s for mine too.

So the trans has been a journey. I was about to set fire to the truck. Damn valve body had leaks internally (caused by me).

Bought a reman valve body from Central Valve Bodies - eBay. $200 with a $100 core charge. Should have just done this from the very start and avoided those TransGo shift kits. They were nearly the cost of the valve body.

It fixed all my issues. All gears shift nice and smooth. No more slipping. No CELs. While it was apart, I replaced every single piece of rubber since I hope to never open it again.

threw some shudder fix in while refilling. She has/had the classic TC shudder. It’s already almost gone. Seems to be good stuff. And put the Dorman pan on. Makes changing fluid a breeze

checking in. done nothing to her but add gas and an oil change...put the Fumoto drain valve on while I was at it. love those things. side note: doing oil change on a diesel and 2 gassers at the same time results in over 5 gallons of used oil to dispose of. lol

new valve body is wonderful. she's back to shifting great and the adaptives have almost gotten used to my patterns.

sadly the 37's look great, but I'm not loving the hit to performance. 6.2L will spin them no issue, but acceleration and braking are definitely affected. When these tires wear out I'm going to replace my Geisers with OEM springs on low (maybe mid) perch and drop back down to 35's. Dropping 2-3" will help my partially crippled behind crawl in as well

Bought a bunch of goodies for her. And tools to do the installs with. Just waiting on the weather to stay warmed up. Went from nearly 90's outside a week ago to freezing again this week.

Excited to get my foglights, backup lights, and secondary backup cameras installed
