Protecting bottom of cab.

I just sanded and scraped the bottom of my truck then sprayed it with some basic primer from the store. It’s sorta half done right now and as I did more research, I’m finding things out like epoxy primer is better than lacquer, rust encapsulater is a good idea or a rubberized undercoat is an option. So now I’m loaded with information finding myself going back and fourth between ideas and unsure how I should proceed. Should I spray over what I did with an encapulator and finish with something else? My goal is to protect the bottom and make it look nice again.

Also, I do have a can of zero rust if this would be of any use , but most of what I painted over was the pre existing brown finish and some of the metal I exposed while sanding. There was some rust that I already converted with one step spray converter near the rear and then primered over it. I did not use any zero rust yet.

I have before and after pictures

My personal favorite is Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer, followed by a top coat of Rustoleum enamel, in your favorite color & sheen. All brushed on.

do you think it’s ok to put that over this sandable lacquer primer that I just applied or should I strip it down first ?

It's probably best to strip the lacquer off, especially if there is any rust under it.

I did the exact same, good stuff.
Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer, then the enamel final coat.
