Here in North Central PA we have had a very wet spring with rather cool temps. Today the dash temp in my truck said 105°! Accuweather predicted only 95°. They say Wednesday is the hottest day.
I had to mow our clubs soccer fields today. It takes 5 hours to mow the 14 acres of grass. It was hot but I was just sitting on a zero turn doing 12 mph . When I got home I rested in the AC then when shade took over my small backyard I mowed that.
What temp did you have at your location and what did you do?
95* here in Western MA. I did some yard work and watered some of the plants. I have eight 5 gallon buckets filled and ready to go tomorrow for the areas too far for a hose.
I moved the table saw outside to keep the dust out of my garage and spent a bunch of time cutting wood to size for my makeshift transmission dolly.
Went to the ice cream store and got a a vanilla soft serve cone with chocolate sprinkles. 🫠
I certainly did not mow 14 acres in the beating sun! That's for the professionals.
92 Here yesterday in Clinton, TN. I drove about a 30 mile round trip to a dairy queen and got a straw berry sunday. My 86 f150 overheated while in the drive through. It was full of anti freeze and never does this. Super hot here all week
The high yesterday was 83. Occasionally rain showers brought temps down to the low to mid 70’s. It’s 66 right now with an expected high today of 78–way too hot for me. Thirty below would be preferable to 105. We have very few 90 degree days—thankfully.
Yesterday I drove from northern Maine next to the Canada border and it was 55 degrees and foggy when I left. By the time I got to the middle of the state it was 94 degrees. Quite a difference! In a matter of a few hours I went from the heat and defroster on to the A/C on Max setting.
Summer has arrived after a very wet and chilly spring.
I worked yesterday morning till I ran out of materials. Got up to 36 C or 97 F and factor in the humidity it felt like 45 C or 113 F. Spent about 2 1/2 hours in the pool. And I a not a pool guy. Should have used sun screen. Got a great new colour of red on my shoulders and back, lol.
I went out for a run this morning at 4:45am. It was already 75 degrees and 89% humidity. It is supposed to get in the mid 90's today.
I'm glad I have an inside job. Although my wife's company car is in the shop today. So she is taking the car. I have the van and it seems the AC has gone out. It will be a toasty drive home this evening.
At least I don't have to drive far. Now I wouldn't complain too much if I was in my truck, it's hot in there but the cool factor outweighs the hot for the most part. There is zero cool factor in a minivan.
It's 92 degrees F, the summer norm here in west central Florida, I mowed my son's yard, about an acre, before the temperatures reached maximum. I serviced his and my pools, then decided my pool needed "testing." Life is tough.
After a couple of weeks in the mid-90's, 5% RH, today and tomorrow are going to be below 80 with rain from the tropical storm in the Gulf of America. Lovely!

I was moved by this thread to inquire about the weather extremes in Wisconsin: The highest recorded temperature is 114 in 1936. The lowest is 55 below in 1996. Interesting. Not quite what conventual thinking would have us believe. I've experienced a few 100 degree days during my time living in Wisconsin and Michigan. I'd say it's maybe something like 3 times in a lifetime chance.
76 outside Mandan, ND. Unfortunately, in the eastern part of the state, folks are still picking up after at least 3 deadly tornadoes. Railroad is busy picking up hundreds of tipped rail cars after a derecho hit with 112 mph winds.
I discovered something today. Do not keep your modern car shut up in this heat. Blew the rear window out of my Dad's Nissan. I guess my old trucks aren't this sealed up.
