Hello everyone, today I noticed that my gas tank on my '77 F250 had shrunk, causing a small crack. Repairing the crack isn't a problem, but I'm not entirely sure how this could have happened since I installed a vented gas cap. Are there any problems with these gas caps that cause them to malfunction from time to time? Thanks very much, Greetings Tobias.
The tank looks very good on the inside, so there's no rust. I can't say when this happened... Should I repair the tank or replace it? I don't want it to happen again. What do you think?
Well, all I can tell you is what I did to my 79 F250.
I replaced my tank as I was rebuilding my truck. Even though the tank appeared to be in decent shape.
Gas tanks are a very importanrt part of these trucks, and safety has always been one of my pet peeves.
Brakes,,, steering,,,, and fuel,,,, and tires are always the most important part of a build or rebuild..
