Exclamation alternator sparking

i lust changed my alternator ( and everything in charging system). tonight i was driving and kept noticing lights and voltmeter acting erratic (like doing fine and then quick flashey dips). i got home, let run, and opened hood. i noticed the alt was sparjing. sometimes series of little sparks and occasionally a big lick. i ran around and cut off truck. i havn't really examined it 'cuz it's late and dark. the only thing i'm kind of thinking is that i changed the field and other wire (w/b not batt.) connections from the push on plastic to just basic eyelets. i couldn't find any of those same push on dome lookin' rascals. i thought i did a clean job, but i'm wondering if maybe a few of the wires are kinda of hanging of eyelet and touching alt. (hitting ground). has anyone heard of that or is it more likely internal? thanks

I doubt that it is internal Punchy. A loose bat connection is the most likely cause.
