Sometimes it's the driver. That would be me. I adjusted my Rancho 9000XL front shocks down too low, thinking I wanted a softer ride. Too low! I got death wobble. Then one of the first times pulling my camper I didn't have the WDH configured right and it wasn't transferring weight back to the front axle. So far, each time I've had DW, it was something I did that made it possible. Both of those times were before Ford replaced the steering stabilizer under warranty/recall, so that could have contributed to the problem.
I'm not saying that the list provided above isn't useful. Just that sometimes, it's operator error.
Appreciate the input... I wouldn't know about those adjustable shocks. I still have the original "FX4" shocks with 140k miles with no signs of DW whatsoever... I bought Monroe Spectrums but haven't installed them yet.

Do it! You don't know how bad the ride has become until you change out the shocks. I ditched the OEM shocks at about 5k miles because of a section of highway near me that my wife didn't like. The Rancho shocks helped.
I have a set of Bilstein shocks waiting to go on that I bought just before my recent trip through WY, MT, WA, OR, ID, UT and CO. There's a bit of jitter going down the road that I hope will be taken care of by the new front shocks. I really don't want to spend the big bucks on Fox reservoir shocks, but if they settle the ride down I may end up going that route.

Yeah I know... you are probably more than correct... I actually was going to start on one of my last two days off but our dog was real sick and had to take him to the vet for an emergency visit... I have the two front shocks in the back seat.
I did put Bilstiens on the F450 and it did help smooth the ride a bit, but not enough to make it comfortable. The all stock 2024 F350 DRW is hands down a much nicer riding truck. Not anywhere as nice as my Flex, but still far better than the F450.

Hopefully I can wait a few years before I need shocks. Retiring in September which eliminates 640 miles per week of trucking. Starting an online store front selling prints and laser cut and 3D items. I might even branch out and sell items to be drop shipped.
I just wanted close this thread, I did indeed fix my death wobble!
Replaced tie rod ends and stabilizer (alignment, balance and rotate the tires) They said there was some play in my track bar ( replaced , realigned!) can't for the life of me think of some of the other components I replaced, but basically had the truck in this shop 5 times for alignment's, twice of which I had them balance the tires, still had issues at 45 mph, got mad one day and decided to rotate my tires in my drivway (figured they had not done it as i asked) pulled the drivers tire, Huge bulge in the tire ! I was beyond MAD , threw the tire in the back of the truck and took it to raise some hell! got a new set of tires for about half price, Drives like dream!
I will no longer ever take another vehicle to that shop!

Good to hear Don... if you had play in the track bar, it was either the bushing at the bottom or the track bar ball joint...
make sure you check out the links I posted above...

I'm going to call bull crap on my own response after experiencing what I have now since I replaced my shocks and dampner... I believe my Centramics have helped to keep DW at bay but driving around with bad shocks is NOT a good thing...

How did your Bilstein shocks work out? 4600 or 5100 series?

4600 series, just the fronts. It feels more stable. There is still a bit of a jitter going over small bumps. I think that's coming from the rear, so a replacement of those is in order.
