I just got my truck from a shop that aligned it. ( toe in/out anyways) It drive really nice now. I had disc brakes put on with new spindles so any alignment there was was gone. Now the steering wheel is off, not centered. Wondering whats involved to recenter the steering wheel. It is 3 on the tree for shifting it that matters. I do have the service manuals but have not dove it as yet just asking for a quick reply. thanks
Sort of surprising the alignment place didn't see to that detail, but it should be possible to remove the horn ring or button, remove the nut that holds the wheel on and pull the steering wheel - typically with a puller similar to the first picture. Re-clock to center, put the nut on and torque to specification. Put the horn button back on.
The splines on the steering shaft allow the wheel to be put on in any position around the clock one spline at a time.
What TA said, and unfortunately, they probably don't know how to correct it, also, before you take it back to them to fix, or decide to pull the wheel yourself, make sure your turn to lock C to L and C to R are the same.
If you do decide to pull the wheel, my suggestion is... drive it and mark with a pencil where "straight" is, pull wheel, center it, put nut on but don't tighten, drive around and make sure straight is straight, take your tools with you to adjust it. I did this on my 77 after I rplc'd the steering gearbox, took me a few times to get it where I was happy with "straight".
