Blower only works on maximum settings

On every vehicle I have ever owned it has been the blower motor resistor. What is it likely to be on the Ranger?

Family has sensitive eyes due to Lasik and the blowing air is overkill.

Blower motor resistor is the first place I’d check.

Every once in a while when I hit a large bump my fan will get stuck on high. I can go under the hood and play with the plug beside the fan and it’ll quit. It doesn’t do it often enough for me to dig into it further. 😂

Blower resistor is the most likely. Speeds other than max use resistors in series/parallel to reduce voltage and lower blower speed. Generally not an expensive item.
Older models have them in the wall of the heater plenum under hood. Simple unplug-unscrew-remove-install-screw-plug...
