Hi there fellow troubleshooters,

Here's one for you all,

My 97 F250HD 5.8 automatic shifts from park to fwd/rev ok on level ground, but if its on any incline, it bangs into gear (fwd or rev). Anyone know what could be the problem? I have a bad feeling that this is going to be expensive. And to think I had the gasket replaced two weeks ago!

When you say gasket...I am assuming you mean the pan gasket. If so...then first off I would check the fluid level and make sure that is up to par.

The tranny fluid is full...Any other ideas?
