Gooseneck Install

Am I better off installing a B&W turnover or going with the factory gooseneck package on my truck? If I go factory, do I have to remove the bed for the install? I know the B&W I don’t.

Do you already have the truck, or are you ordering? If you already have the truck, I would suggest getting the B&W system. Cheaper and faster install while arguably being the best system on the market. If you are ordering, I'd spring for gooseneck/fifth wheel prep, because you ALSO get the plug in the box (you have to install yourself if you don't have it and want it), and it ends up cheaper that way. Install of the factory system is pretty labor intensive.

I have the truck already. It came with every other option pretty much, except a gooseneck.

My 2025 F250 King Ranch did not come with a factory fifth wheel prep. Which I didn't want because I already had the B & W fifth wheel companion from my previous Super Duty. I installed the B & W fifth wheel kit which cost me $699(probably better prices out there). The YOUTUBE video is excellent if you watch the one from B & W. Went in just as instructed but took a couple hours, I suppose. I don't think there is an advantage of one over the other. Personal preference. I purchased a Hopkins wiring harness for in the bed. I would try a different brand next time as the harness adaptor plug was too tight in the ford plug to fully insert all the way. Just my 2 cents..

Another vote for the B&W, but admittedly I have no experience with the factory. My 2024 came with the factory plug, but no gooseneck

The factory system is pretty good, there are a lot of aftermarket gooseneck ***** that work with it, and the fifth wheel setups are usually pretty solid once you adjust them in. And it's a cheap option from the factory...but to put it in after the fact you might as well get the B&W...including labor it's actually cheaper.

If using a 5th wheel hitch, the Ford system is far superior to any other since it locks the hitch at 4 points to the frame where others rely on one mounting point, the ball. The rail type, the ball type, can get easily ripped apart under the right conditions while factory will remain secured. If you have no use for 5th wheel though, go the B&W route.
