2000 ford F150

I have a 4.2 6 cylinder 2 door truck. in both heat & AC mode when I accelerate the duct damper closes. When I release the gas it opens again and returns to its setting.
No problem with the fan operation, just the damper opening & closing.

This video might help. At about 2:00 when he's talking about vacuum lines you can see a green and white object. I think that is the check valve. Your problem sounds like a check valve that is not working.

Possibly the check valve, but better chance that you have some cracked hoses or the rubber on their ends. Those cracks inhale air when the hoses shift just right. Eventually, you’ll be where I am at and be stuck on defrost totally. Gonna dig deeper one of these weekends.
